Children should have a first eye examination before starting school and then every year, because vision problems can hold back reading and learning without any complaint from the child.
Adults with no symptoms and no spectacles are well served by an examination every two years. Anyone who wears spectacles or contact lenses, lives with diabetes or high blood pressure, or is over 40 should be seen every year.
See us sooner if you notice sudden blur, flashes or floaters, eye pain, or a red eye that does not settle within a day.
